This was the song which actually changed the lives of the duo. Their single Selfie was eventually re-released by Dim Mark Records in January 2014. They had to open for Timeflies at Terminal 5. Their first live performance was in September 2014.
This was followed by The Rookie which released in the year 2013. In the year 2012, they collaborated with Indian actor and playback artist Priyanka Chopra for her single Erase. The duo started off by making remixes of Indie songs. Once Bixler left, Alexander joined hands with Andrew and completed his band once again. Pall attended New York University for art history and music business, while Taggart attended Syracuse University and was an intern at Interscope Records. They then reformed in the year 2012 under the management of Adam Alpert in New York City. This duo was initially formed by Pall and former DJ Rhett Bixler. According to the Forbes 2019 list of highest paid celebrities, The Chainsmokers became the highest paid DJs, thus dethroning Calvin Harris after six years. They achieved a breakthrough in 2014 with their song Selfie which became a top twenty single in various countries.
They started off with their career by releasing remixes of Indie artists. The Chainsmokers are an American electronic DJ and production duo which comprises 2 members namely Alexander “Alex” Pall and Andrew “Drew” Taggart. Be it any special moment in our lives, all of them are incomplete without a beat of The Chainsmokers’s songs. All the songs of this duo are immensely loved by the youngblood. This duo came into limelight with the Closer song and then there was no looking back for their increasing amount of popularity. Hands down, they have given us some marvelous English songs which we simply cannot just get out of our heads.
